Thanks I will give it a go, It seems that a few non Tormach machine guys that have brought the scanner think the quality is no good. Also, the scanning software always used positive approach while scanning to minimize backlash, so it was well done. THEY will be the only one that can trouble shoot your problem.
Need Help! Tormach Scanner
Ok, so the camera works, but the path pilot software scanner tab seems buggy I know Tormach does not place a high priority on the scanner function on PathPilot I called and asked tech supportbut I'd really like to have this capability as I bought my machine to make replacement parts, and it was a major factor in my decision to purchase a Tormach. This is a 2D scanner based on a camera that mounts on CNC mill.

All help greatly appreciated. Sinumerik D cnc from Siemens is easy to set-up and run. Andrew from Tormach has busted his ass to help me get it sorted but we can't get it working, its a really great item and I use it so need to sort the problem out.
Comment on Sep 15th, at 3: The resulting resolution is quite close to 1 mil and the software allows for identifying distances and radii so that you can extract the important details from the scanned object. I have spent a lot of time trying to get it running and sadly it may end with me having to return the CNC scanner for a credit.
The interesting thing is that there is a freeware version.
